Parking Probs

My biggest complaint with the University of South Alabama is… PARKING

I cannot tell you how many times I have sped around campus looking for an empty spot. Over the years, I have learned that you should NEVER, under any circumstances, move your car. If you do, you will not have the luxury of finding another spot. But, there are some of us who cannot even find two little white lines to park in between.

“Stalking” other students seems to be the only answer. When I see someone, backpack in hand heading for the parking lot, I immediately follow them. I know I look ridiculous driving in circles following around other students, but this is the ONLY way to get a spot in central at 9 a.m.

In my two years at the University of South Alabama I have received one parking ticket. It was my first semester at the university and I had no idea there were parking zones near the First Year Academic Advising building. I met with my advisor for FIFTEEN minutes, and in that time I was given a parking ticket. Keep in mind, I was never issued a warning. As a student, I feel that this university is trying to give me as many parking tickets as possible. I made one simple mistake and there was no grace period.

Sadly, I am not sure when these parking issues will be fixed. It seems like the university keeps increasing enrollment, which only makes matters worse. I get it, spending thousands of dollars on parking is not exciting, but it is necessary.
